Premier Inn: Cardiff

Premier Inn Cardiff

When I first used Premier Inn (2010) they weren’t promoted as specifically green or disabled hotels. But I found a significant number of aspects suitable and conducive for ME/CFS,  MCS. Premier Inn are now recently listing  green and disabled measures more fully on their website and are, interestingly, building ‘pioneering eco hotels’.

Location: Cardiff City Centre, Wales / Very close to shops: St Davids Centre, Queens St

Environment: Request for quiet room (high floor) away from lift accommodated. Double-glazing & sound-proofing – helpful for noise sensitivity. Non-through road with traffic – bars located at other end of road.

Chemical Free:  Told via phone – no fragrance on linen / towels. I found this to be true but don’t know what’s used. Aware of slight air freshener smell in room.

Eco Friendly: Guests asked to reuse towels. Shampoo / soap display Ecolabel – ingredients unknown. More info on How Can We Be Greener?

Disability Aware: Lift to all floors. Hypnos beds – helpful for back problems. Black out curtains – helpful with light sensitivity / rest & sleep. Safe for lone travellers. Specific DisabledGo Premier Inn Cardiff information (click on Disabled Access link under booking table). Wheelchair accessible rooms if required. Also see Environment above

Customer Service: Helpful, polite staff

Special Diets: I didn’t use restaurant.

Organic Food: I didn’t use restaurant.

Transport: A 10-minute walk from Cardiff Central Station, close to Queen St Station. Taxis available outside Cardiff Central Station. Council disabled parking directly outside hotel – overnight parking unknown. Capitol Car Park 200m+ away. Bus stops opposite mainly serving Cardiff East. Bus station a 10-minute walk.
